To be clear, the Boise player also was a jerk

I meant what I said and I said what I meant about LeGarrette Blount: sit him for the year, Oregon.

But Boise State ought to hand out a little discipline -- not a year, for crying out loud, but something -- to the player who taunted Blount: Byron Hout.

Video is clear. Hout showed zero class in victory, using the postgame to hoot at Blount -- who had talked trash before the game -- and even putting his hands on Blount's shoulder pads. Did Hout deserve to be punched? Nope. But was Hout an innocent bystander?

Nope.

Blount was a poor loser and a despicable, at that moment, human being. But Hout was a clown who deserves some sort of smackdown from his team. Figuratively, I mean. He already was given a literal smackdown.

Awww -- he's like a young Pacman Jones

LeGarrette Blount of Oregon, I mean. He's a young Pacman Jones. Is that a good thing?

Of course it's not a good thing.

He didn't just lose his cool Thursday night when he sucker-punched a Boise State player after the game. He became completely unhinged. He forgot where he was, who he was, and where he wants to go. And if he plays again this season, shame on Oregon coach Chip Kelly.

(Here's the video!)

A season-long suspension is a stiff, stiff penalty to pay for a college football player, especially a senior. But Blount has to go. A player cannot sucker-punch another player after the game, and then make it worse by trying to go all Ron Artest on the crowd. If it weren't for the police who stopped him, Blount would have been in the crowd making (punches) rain.

This might not be a bad guy, but that was a despicable show. And he has to go.

And if Chip Kelly doesn't see that, well, maybe Chip Kelly has to go as well.
