Big East reduced to WVU, Potsie and Ralph Malph

As if it hasn't jumped the shark already ... if the BCS doesn't take away the automatic bid from the Big East for the 2012 season, I'd ask the following:

Who's running the BCS? Arthur Fonzarelli?

Listen, I live in Cincinnati and don't enjoy the watering down of my own backyard football program, but facts are facts. And the fact is, the Big East probably didn't deserve a BCS bid at full strength -- and the Big East definitely won't deserve a BCS bid next year, barring something crazy like Notre Dame (or Texas) joining.

And since the Big East is looking instead at schools like East Carolina, Central Florida and Memphis ... well, there you have it. This is not a BCS league.

This is not even the Mountain West.

No offense to you, Mountain West.

And no offense to you, either, West Virginia. The Mountaineers deserve better than to be in such a weakened league, but that's where West Virginia is. Surrounded by mediocre, at best, football schools. And West Virginia plus a whole host of mediocre football schools does not equal a BCS bid.

I mean, that's not an even an opinion.

That's a fact.

So more or less, what Doyel is saying is that the Big Ten, Pac 12, Acc, SEC, & Big 12 members are the only schools that have a right to play in a BCS game? Would that not fan the flames of an antitrust case?

Big east and ACC need to combine and drop some of the dead weight

Wouldn't the Big Ten and Big East combining and dropping more dead weight make more sense?  What ACC team with over 100,000 screaming fans was able to lose to App State at home?  Dead weight.  Has been for a while.  Ohio State, dead weigh, at least for now.  Michigan State, Indiana, Illinois and Purdue all perennial dead weight.  Your Big Ten has one good team, Wisconsin, and if NC State hadn't ran Russell Wilson off they'd be a whole lot weaker too.  It took an ACC player to make your best team relevant.  The Big Ten is mediocre, as is the Pac 12.  What's left of the Big 12 is better than both.  Can the swagger.  Your Big Ten can't back it up.     &n

If the Big Ten turned down Missouri, an AAU member, as required by the Big Ten, and a school located within two top 20 media markets, what possible chance would WVU have.  Right now, WVU  is behind Louisville on the Big 12 expansion list, not that that's a bad thing.  If the Big 12 decide to go back to 12 teams, then Louisville and West Virginia  will both be in the Big 12 next year.

As for Doyel, before he writes about the BCS again, he should read up on it.  He shouldn't write about things he doesn't know anything about.  The BCS AQs won't be reviewed until 2013 and there is no mechanism in place for that to be changed unless a conference fails to meet the minimum standards for a NCAA sanctioned conference, i.e. 8 teams.  Right now, with the configuration in place and adding just Air Force and Navy, the Big East would not lose the bid by the BCS mathematical formula.  In fact, the ACC is today mathematically closer to losing it then the Big East is and adding Syracuse and Pitt are not going to help one bit.

This is pretty funny.  The Big Least is living up to its nickname right now.  It is looking like a race between the Big Least, the ACC, and the Big Texas to be the conference that doesn't either disband or get demoted to the minor leagues.  I thought four superconferences would be great, but it is looking like there could be five.

They could do a great playoff by allowing two outsiders to play for one slot, and including the five conference champions in a playoff.  This would be a de facto 12-team playoff with six teams winning games to get into the main draw.  Maybe the Big Least could get one of their teams into the Leftoverture Championship Game once in awhile and salvage at least a shred of dignity.

Alright this is killing me haha, how again is WVU this dominate team I keep hearing about?  UC has been in the league for 6 years, and won it twice, U of L the same and won it once.  Heck even Uconn won it and went to a BSC bowl last year on a UC down year.  As far as I can tell WVU is equal if not worse than UC in the last 5 years.  Somebody had to say it.  By the way Doyle you are an idiot and no one in Cincinnati can stand your below average articles, and your hatred for Cincy.  I don't even know why you mention you are from Cincy, time to move on.
